Register for the NEW Arboretum Art Series and save $30!
Save your travel dollars and invest in the Arboretum’s three class series that will have you exploring art from across the globe to your own back yard.
Beginning in August, discover the classic custom of basket weaving—an art perfected by the residents of the Appalachia. In Appalachian Basket Weaving, master basket weaver Kathy Chang will lead this hands-on workshop, which will guide the student through the intricate process of crafting their own personal antique drying basket.
Later that month, new students to advanced artists will learn and improve water painting skills and techniques in Chinese Brush Painting. Students will create their own watercolor painting using traditional techniques rooted in Chinese traditions taught by Peihong Dong.
In October, uncover the potential art awaiting you in your own backyard in Creating Botanical Art. This fascinating class taught by award-winning artist Owen Mortensen, will teach students how to
create beautiful framed artwork using leaves, seed pods, flowers and other natural materials.
Register for all three classes: $170 members, $225 non-members and save $30, or register for individual classes at regular price. The cost of materials is included in the fees.
