Build a Nest Box for the Eastern Screech Owl

or 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Birds of all kinds need protection from predators and bad weather and a safe place to raise their young. How can you improve our urban habitat for Houston's most valuable owl, the Eastern Screech Owl?

First, come learn about the habits of this nocturnal hunter of the city's forests. Then, build a nesting box from used lumber diverted from the local landfill by the City of Houston ReUse Warehouse.
