Located in the Interpretive Building, the Nature Shop carries items for nature lovers of all ages - including educational toys, books, rocks, handpainted scarves and more. Proceeds from purchases in the Nature Shop help fund the Nature Center's educational programs.
The Nature Shop is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 31, 12 - 1 p.m. - Book Signing with John P. O'Neill
We are thrilled to have Dr. John P. O'Neill at the Arboretum!
He will be teaching a 3 day Bird Illustration workshop and on Saturday, Oct. 31, during the lunch break of his class, he has generously agreed to sign copies of his book Great Texas Birds.
Dr. O'Neill is a world-renowned bird artist. His paintings have been published in Science, Audubon, and National Geographic magazines. Books have included the National Geographic Society's Field Guide to the Birds of North America, Great Texas Birds, Reader's Digest's Book of North American Birds, and most recently Birds of Peru.
His works can be found in the collections of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Beijing Natural History Museum and Denver Museum of Natural History. (a limited number of Dr. O'Neill's paintings for Great Texas Birds are on display in the Arboretum building, through Nov. 1)
Dr. O'Neill earned his Master's and Doctorate at Louisiana State University and served as Curator of Higher Vertebrates, then as Director of the LSU Museum of Natural Science. Dr. O'Neill has studied the birds of Peru since 1961, and has described 13 new species of birds, more than any other living ornithologist.
